TOKYO, December 20, 2011: Japan Airlines (JAL) has been named an Official Partner for Tokyo Sky Tree ® - the newest, tallest skyscraper in Japan that is scheduled to open to public on May 22, 2012.

The Tokyo Sky Tree is a television broadcasting tower built with the latest architectural know-how as well as traditional Japanese construction concepts that together represent the country’s culture and advanced technology. Standing at a height of 634 meters, it has been recognized by Guinness World Records in a ceremony held in Tokyo in last month as the world’s tallest free-standing tower, and attracting international attention as a symbol of a “new Tokyo” and “new Japan”. Sharing the same principles of “Tradition”, “Reformation” and the “Heart of Japan” JAL has decided to support it as one of its official partners.

Today, the builders of Tokyo Sky Tree - Tobu Tower Sky Tree Co., also announced the start of the “Tokyo Sky Tree [I LOVE NIPPON] Project” to further promote Japan as a dynamic country that is full of vitality. As the official airline, JAL will begin endorsing the Tokyo Sky Tree with “Official Partner” logos and through its air transport business that bridges cultures, economies and peoples globally, help to convey the wonders of Japanese culture and technology to the world.
