Live Global Television Available on JAL Inflight Internet Service

Tokyo, Monday January16, 2006: From January 23, 2006, passengers on JAL aircraft equipped with the `JAL Inflight Internet Service' provided by Connexion by Boeing Inc. (CBB) - a business unit of Boeing - will be able to use their own wireless LAN compatible personal computers to enjoy live global television during flight.

By logging onto the `JAL Inflight Internet Service' from this date, passengers onboard JAL will be able to select from four television channels and view directly on their own laptop or notebook computers live news, financial and sport news-related content. The programming will be transmitted live by satellite by NBC Universal, Euronews, EuroSport SA and BBC World to all JAL aircraft equipped with the `JAL Inflight Internet Service'.

JAL passengers will be able to enjoy watching live global news provided by BBC World, CNBC global business news, and sports news provided by Eurosportnews. Regional news from EuroNews will also be available on aircraft traveling across all regions except the U.S. and Canada, where MSNBC will be offered. BBCWorld and CNBC content will change depending on where the aircraft is in the world, as the service will be able to link directly to American, European and Asian focused feeds. All content will be provided in English. Passengers must use their own headphones when listening to live global television.

Passenger can view live global television free-of-charge when they pay to access the `JAL Inflight Internet Service'. A new simplified more flexible pricing for the `JAL Inflight Internet Service' will come into effect on January 31, 2006 providing passengers with four options: 1, 2 and 3-hour Internet access at US$9.95, US$14.95 and US$17.95 respectively, and 24 hours unlimited access at US$26.95. Payment is by credit card.

JAL first introduced the `JAL Inflight Internet Service' on its Tokyo-London (JL401/402) route on December 9, 2004. This was followed by introduction of the service onto daily flights between Tokyo-New York (JL006/005) on May 10, 2005: the world's first service on a transpacific flight. The `JAL Inflight Internet Service' is currently available to passengers in all classes on certain JAL aircraft serving five routes: Tokyo - London, Tokyo- New York, Tokyo- Paris, Tokyo- Moscow and Tokyo - Singapore. JAL will continue to expand this in-flight Internet connection service on other routes, notably on Japan-Europe and Japan-North America routes.

About the `JAL Inflight Internet Service'

The `JAL Inflight Internet Service' provided by Connexion by Boeing Inc. (CBB) - a business unit of Boeing - helps passengers make the most of their time in the air by providing a broadband high-speed connectivity they can use to access the Internet. Passengers can, for example, connect to the Internet to visit their favorite websites, learn more about their destination, listen to music, shop, and make reservations online.

Passengers can keep in touch with colleagues, family, and friends, by sending and receiving email, even with large attachments, via existing e-mail accounts. As the Internet connection service uses VPN (Virtual Private Network) technology, passengers can also access securely their company's network, email and intranet site.

Additionally, passengers can access free of charge JAL's in-flight portal site which contains a selection of content such as company product and service information.
