Press Release
JAL & Finnair Code Share Expansion
Tokyo, Monday May 15, 2006: From June 4, 2006, Japan Airlines (JAL) and Finnair will expand their existing
code share agreement by increasing the number of JAL operated Japan domestic flights the Finnish carrier can
place its flight numbers on (subject to government approval).
The agreement will be extended to include round-trip flights operated by JAL three times per week between
Centrair Airport, Nagoya and Sapporo, and three times per week between Centrair Airport and Fukuoka.
JAL and Finnair first started code sharing on flights on December 19, 2005 on specified daily intra-Europe
round-trip flights operated by Finnair between Helsinki and Amsterdam and Frankfurt; and on five one-way Japan
domestic routes operated by JAL serving the cities of Fukuoka, Osaka, Tokyo and Sapporo.
Ticket sales of the new code share flights are planned for May 15 2006, subject to government approval.
