Press Release
Major Redesign of JAL International Timetable
Comparison of old & new versions
Tokyo, March 27, 2008: Responding to customer surveys and feedback, JAL has completely redesigned the printed version of its international timetable making it easier to read, reference, and carry.
JAL’s current timetable called the ‘JAL International Flight Schedule & Service Guide’ will be replaced during April 2008 by a handy new version to simply be renamed the ‘JAL International Flight Schedule’.
Customers were asked if a printed version of the timetable was still needed, and if so how it could be improved. Customers unanimously asked for the timetable to be continued, and based on their recommendations, it was completely redesigned.
The main changes to the timetable are as follows:
●Pocket size making it much easier to carry (17cm x 7.5cm).
●Simple color coding to make guide easier to reference.
●Completely bilingual. All information provided in both Japanese and English.
●Round-trip information for every destination placed conveniently next to each other on 2-page spread.
●Seating maps for 8 main aircraft configurations included.
The last time the timetable was given a major facelift like this was 25 years ago, back in 1983.
As with the older version, the new timetable will be made from 100% recycled paper, and in addition to the flight schedules will contain information on JAL’s international services offered both on the ground and in the air.
JAL prints on average 2 million timetables annually which can be picked up at the airport, JAL sales offices worldwide, as well as appointed travel agents. A PDF version is also available on www.jal.com for customers to download.
