JAL Domestic to International Connection Time Shortened at Narita Airport

Tokyo, July 3, 2008: From July 18, 2008, the minimum time required for connecting from JAL domestic flights to international flights at Narita Terminal 2 will be shortened from the current 80 minutes to 60 minutes.

This has been made possible with the opening of an exclusive passport control area and security checkpoint for passengers connecting from domestic to international flights at the terminal. As a result, it will be possible to connect to even more JAL international flights.

Currently, JAL domestic flights from Sapporo, Nagoya (Chubu), Osaka (Itami) and Fukuoka fly to Narita Airport Terminal 2. Up until now, passengers arriving on domestic flights had to go over to the international departure lobby to go through passport control.

As a result of the new exclusive connection facilities, customers will be able to proceed straight from the domestic arrival lobby to the international departure concourse, thereby shortening the distance of movement.

Furthermore, JAL has implemented measures to shorten the necessary time to transfer checked baggage, making it possible to shorten the minimum connection time to 60 minutes.
