JAL and LAN Peru Begin Codeshare Flights -Travel to and from Peru with more convenience-
TOKYO March 29, 2013: Japan Airlines (JAL) and LAN Peru S.A. (LAN Peru), respectively a member and an affiliate airline of the oneworld Alliance®, executed agreements to code-share flights. Once approved by the applicable government authorities, passengers will have access to expanded routes in the United States, Japan and Peru. Specifically, in the United States JAL will offer its passengers further connectivity between New York and Los Angeles on the one hand, and Lima, Peru in the other hand.*
*Codeshare flights are subject to government approval.
This arrangement comes a year after JAL and LAN Peru’s affiliate, LATAM Airlines Group S.A. (LAN Airlines), obtained approvals for their codeshare relationship. LAN Airlines, a leading South American airline, operates with its passenger affiliates in Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador , Brazil and Paraguay, one of the most extensive networks in South America. As oneworld partners, JAL and LAN Airlines have already started codeshare and mileage program tie-up. Now, with its codeshare ties with LAN Peru, JAL aims to further widen its South American network coverage to provide business and leisure customers alike, with greater convenience and support.
