JAL Group Traffic Forecast for 2013 Summer Vacation Period

TOKYO August 2, 2013: The JAL Group today announced international and domestic passenger traffic forecast for the Japanese summer vacation that stretches ten days from August 9 to August 18 this year.

 

There are currently 266,166 passenger bookings on international JAL Group flights during this period, up 7.2% compared to previous year, while capacity increased by 6.1%. Reservations for both long-haul and short-haul flights are in good shape and the favorite destinations for holiday choices become various. The booking factor of the Group’s international flights is approximately one percentage point higher than last year at 90.2%.

 

On the domestic network, passenger bookings now stand at 961,821, 5.7% higher than the same period last year, while capacity rose 2.0%. The overall booking factor for domestic JAL Group flights at present is 66.4% that is two percentage points higher than last year.

 

During this peak season, JAL will operate 17 chartered flights to destinations in Europe, Kona, Honolulu and Palau, 8 extra flights to Honolulu and 16 extra flights between Haneda and Izumo, Okinawa as well as Sapporo.
