JAL Group Traffic Results for 2015 Summer Vacation Period
TOKYO August 17, 2015: JAL Group (JAL) today announced passenger traffic results for the Japanese summer vacation period that spanned from August 7 to August 16, 2015. JAL carried a total of 274,429 passengers on its international flights during the 10-day stretch, and a total of 1,077,553 passengers domestically.
With 1.6% less seats offered on international routes this year, the number of passengers carried by JAL to and from overseas rose 1.7%, leading to raise the seat load factor 2.9 points to 91.6% compared to the same period last year. JAL also operated a total of eight extra flights to destinations in Hawaii, and two chartered flights to Hawaii during this peak season.
Domestically, the number of passengers increased 3.8% in comparison to the same period last year. The overall load factor rose by approx. 2.3 percentage points to 77.9%. JAL also operated 44 extra flights, mainly to popular destinations like Okinawa and Sapporo during this summer vacation.
