Japan Airlines and Korean Air Start Mileage Tie-up on Redeeming Award Tickets

Japan Airlines (JAL) and Korean Air (KE) today announced the commencement of their mileage agreement on a reciprocal mileage tie-up that will enable members of two airlines’ respective programs to redeem award tickets on either airline. This development expands both KE and JAL’s program more beneficial and attractive for customers of both airlines.

Outline of mileage tie-up

For JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) Members

Start of reservations for redemption: Dec. 1, 2016 ~ (for flights on/after Dec. 3, 2016)

Eligible routes:    KE-operated and KE-designated flights

Seoul (Incheon) = Tokyo (Haneda/Narita), Osaka (Kansai), Nagoya (Chubu), Sapporo, Aomori, Niigata, Komatsu, Okayama, Fukuoka, Oita and Kagoshima

Seoul (Gimpo) = Tokyo (Haneda) and Osaka (Kansai)

Busan = Tokyo (Narita), Osaka (Kansai), Nagoya (Chubu), Sapporo and Fukuoka

Jeju = Tokyo (Narita) and Osaka (Kansai)

For KE’s SKYPASS members

Start of reservations for redemption:  Dec. 1, 2016 ~ (for flights on/after Dec. 1, 2016)

Eligible routes:     JAL-operated and JAL-designated flights

Seoul (Incheon) = Tokyo (Narita)

Seoul (Gimpo) = Tokyo (Haneda)

Busan = Tokyo (Narita)

Note:
1. KE-operated Okinawa (Naha) = Seoul (Incheon) route is ineligible for redemption for JMB members.
2. Mileage accrual will be available for JMB members on KE-operated flights when reservation is made with JAL-designated code. If the reservation is made with KE-designated code, mileage accrual will not be available.
3. Mileage accrual will be available for SKYPASS members on JAL-operated flights when reservation is made with KE-designated code. If the reservation is made with JAL-designated code, mileage accrual will not be available.
4. For more information about award tickets, please contact reservation center of each airline.
