(Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Mitsuko Tottori; "JAL") are proud to announce the launch of "JAPAN RV TRAVELLER," a new campervan (Recreational Vehicle/RV) rental service. Debuting at Narita International Airport in April 2026, the service offers a journey of boundless freedom and allows travelers to earn JAL Miles while discovering Japan's beauty at their own pace.
Bridging the "Last Mile" of Regional Tourism
RVs offer a unique blend of transportation and accommodation, delivering an exceptional travel experience. While highly popular among international visitors, the RV lifestyle is still an emerging trend within Japan.
By leveraging the JAL Group's extensive aviation network and customer base, this service aims to promote RV travel and address critical regional challenges, such as the shortage of "last mile" transportation and lodging in rural areas. To ensure a safe and seamless experience, JAL Airtech will apply its decades of expertise in maintaining and operating specialized airport vehicles to the management of the RV fleet.
Exclusive "JAL x VANTECH" Collaboration Vehicles
To celebrate the launch, two special collaboration models(*2) have been developed with VANTECH Co., Ltd.(*1). These vehicles feature:
Custom Design: A striking livery with aircraft and "Tsuru" (crane) motifs across the interior and exterior. Premium Amenities: Equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi optimized for remote work, exclusive JAL inflight amenities, and the fan-favorite JAL consommé soup.
Active Lifestyle: Designed for travelers seeking a premium outdoor adventure ready for workation--a blend of work and vacation.
Future Vision: A Nationwide RV Booking Portal
Following the launch at Narita, JAL Airtech and JAL will partner with RV operators at airports across Japan to evolve "JAPAN RV TRAVELLER" into a comprehensive booking portal.
The vision is to create a stress-free, one-stop platform where travelers can seamlessly arrange their entire trip--from vehicle rentals to reserving overnight parking spots and local activities. Through this initiative, the JAL Group aims to propose new travel styles that broaden personal horizons and foster "Creating Relationships and Societal Connections through Mobility," ultimately enhancing the well-being of our customers and local communities.
