JAL Group to Unveil First Aircraft Painted with Latest Crane Livery
Special first flight tour includes visit to Japanese crane sanctuary in Kushiro
TOKYOFebruary 8, 2011: The JAL Group (JAL) announced todayahead of its official logo change on April 1, 2011, that a recently delivered Boeing 767-300ER will be the first in the airline’s fleet to sport the latest crane livery and is scheduled to serve on JAL’s Asian routes starting with flights between Haneda and Beijing on March 2, 2011.
Prior to its service on international routes, the 767-300ER painted with the crane motif will take to the skies for the first time on February 28, 2011 as a domestic flight between Haneda and Kushiro in Northeast Hokkaido where Japanese red-crowned cranes can be frequently seen in the snow fields during winter. This special flight operated by JAL is part of a commemorative tour organized by JAL Tours to celebrate the launch of the new logo and in appreciation to valued customers for their years of continued support to the JAL Group. The tour willinclude a visit to a crane sanctuary in the Tsurui Village in Kushiro - a natural habitat and breeding ground of these special birds in Japan. Additionally, participants will receive a commemorative first-flight certificate and giveaways, and enjoyspecial performances by the flight crew and cabin attendants.
