JAL Reduces Flight Frequency on Three International Routes
Tokyo January 19, 2009: The JAL Group has made an additional revision to the international passenger route, flight frequency, and fleet plan for the second half of FY2008, covering the period October 1, 2008 - March 31, 2009.
Today, it announced that it will temporarily reduce flight frequency on three international routes in response to a decline in demand resulting from the current global economic downturn.
Flight frequency on the Tokyo - Bangkok route will be reduced from 21 to 14 flights per week, effective from January 20 to March 28, 2009.
From February 10 to March 28, 2009, flight frequency will be reduced on two China routes with the Tokyo - Beijing route decreasing from 19 to 14 flights per week, and the Tokyo (Narita) - Shanghai route decreasing from 28 to 21 flights per week.
