JAL Group Announces Route, Fleet and Flight Frequency Plans for FY2011

Tokyo, January 20, 2011: JAL Group (JAL) today announced its international and domestic route, fleet and flight frequency plans for fiscal year 2011. Based on recent market demand and supply, JAL made changes to its aircraft schedule, route and flight frequency plans to improve customers’ choice and convenience, aligned with the goals of the network policies established in the reorganization plan.

On the international network, flight frequency between Tokyo (Narita) and Moscow will increase to 3 services a week from March 27, 2011. To meet a robust travel demand between Tokyo (Haneda) and Honolulu, a larger aircraft has also been assigned to fly that route from March 27. Meanwhile, customers on flights connecting Tokyo (Narita) and Jakarta will continue to be served onboard the currently-scheduled Boeing 777-300ER fitted with the airline’s latest in-flight seats - JAL SUITE in first class, JAL SHELL FLAT NEO in executive, and the award-winning JAL SKY SHELL seat in premium economy service.

Domestically, starting from the summer schedule of 2011, JAL subsidiary Japan Air Commuter (JAC) will inaugurate flights from Fukuoka to two southern islands in Japan - Amami-oshima and Yakushima. The latter, to the south of Kyushu, is famed for its age-old forest which was named a World Heritage Site in 1993. JAC is the only commercial airline with scheduled flights to Yakushima airport and already flies there daily from Kagoshima and Osaka (Itami).

Additionally, to effectively maximize the use of expanded availability of slots at Tokyo’s Haneda airport, JAL will increase the number of daily flights from Tokyo’s Haneda airport to 6 select domestic destinations. Daily frequency of flights on 11 other routes will also be raised during this seasonally high traffic half of the year.
