Japan Airlines Announces Temporary Reduction and Cancellation of Service to Mainland China in Response to the Coronavirus Outbreak
Due to the coronavirus outbreak in Mainland China, the carrier has seen a sharp decrease in travel demand and a number of countries are implementing travel restrictions for those that have visited the country during a specific period. As a result, flight and cabin crew who may have operated flights to Mainland China are being affected by these regulations and going forward, the Company may be unable to offer scheduled services throughout its global network.
In response, the Company today announced the decision to implement the following changes. In addition, flights prior to February 16 may also be affected, based on the ever-changing situation.
Network to China - Applicable Period: February 17 – March 28
1) Effective February 18, 2020
2) Will operate Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun

As a result, for JAL`s international network in Mainland China, the number of scheduled flights will be temporarily reduced from 98 to 43 flights per week between February 17 - March 28, 2020.
