JAL Announces International Fare Fuel Surcharge for Tickets Issued Between August and September 2020
Japan Airlines (JAL) will maintain current levels of fuel surcharge on international passenger tickets purchased in Japan between August 1 and September 30, 2020.
JAL sets fuel surcharge levels bimonthly based on the two month average price of Singapore kerosene-type jet fuel. The price of Singapore kerosene-type jet fuel during the two month period of April and May 2020 averaged USD 25.60 per barrel, which accounted for JPY 2,756 in the average exchange rate of JPY/USD 107.65 during the same period.
As a result, with reference to the benchmark list for FY2020, fuel surcharges will not be collected for tickets purchased in Japan between August 1 and September 30, 2020.
