JAL Announces International Fare Fuel Surcharge for Tickets Issued Between June and July 2024
Tokyo, JAPAN - Japan Airlines (JAL) has requested for approval from Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) for the revision of fuel surcharge on international passenger tickets purchased in Japan between June 1 and July 31, 2024.
JAL sets fuel surcharge levels bimonthly based on the two-month average price of Singapore kerosene-type jet
fuel. The price of Singapore kerosene-type jet fuel during the two-month period of February and March 2024
averaged USD 102.81 per barrel, which accounted for JPY 15,373 in the average exchange rate of JPY/USD 149.52 during the same period.
As a result, with reference to the fuel surcharge benchmark list for FY2024, this corresponds to Zone J from June to July 2024.
