Tokyo, JAPAN - Japan Airlines (JAL) encourages travelers to explore various regions of Japan by purchasing and enjoying Japanese craft whisky produced at distilleries scattered throughout the country. This is one of the initiatives by JAL to create relationships and societal connections through air transportation.
The ninth product in this series is the SINGLE MALT YUZA Japan Airlines exclusive 2025, developed by Kinryu Corporation, a distillery led by CEO Masaharu Sasaki and located in Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture. The product will be available in limited quantities through international inflight sales starting July 1, 2025.
Additionally, a whisky tasting event titled “Discovering the Charm of the Yuza Distillery with Baccarat Glasses” will be held in Roppongi, Tokyo, on September 27, 2025, for JAL Mileage Bank members. Attendees will have a chance to immerse themselves in the distinctive appeal of Yuza Distillery's whiskies.

1. About the Yuza Distillery
Kinryu Corporation, a specialized shochu manufacturer founded in 1950, began whisky production in 2018 at its Yuza Town facility in the Akumi District, Yamagata Prefecture. The distillery takes full advantage of the region's clear air, mild and humid climate by the Sea of Japan, and fresh mountain water sourced from Mount Chokai. Its whiskies reflect the blessings of nature and have achieved recognition such as the Category Winner and Gold Medal at the 2024 World Whisky Awards.

2. SINGLE MALT YUZA Japan Airlines exclusive 2025

This single malt whisky is carefully matured in bourbon barrels for over four years and undergoes an additional six months of refinement in premium sherry casks. It features a rich aroma of raisins and chocolate, with smooth and mellow flavors accompanied by a lingering fruity aftertaste.

4. A Special Whisky Tasting Event: Discovering the Charm of Yuza Distillery with Baccarat
On September 27, a whisky tasting event will be held at “B bar Roppongi”, a bar by the world-renowned luxury crystal brand "Baccarat" located in Roppongi, Tokyo. This event celebrates the collaboration between "Baccarat," cherished for 260 years by royalty and celebrities worldwide, and "Yuza Distillery," a treasure of Japanese craft whisky produced amidst breathtaking natural surroundings.

Masaharu Sasaki, CEO of Kinryu Corporation will share insights into the distillery's passion for crafting whisky. Participants can enjoy three rare Yuza whiskies served in Baccarat crystal glasses, which enhance the subtle nuances and flavors of the whisky for an unparalleled sensory experience.
This exclusive event accommodates only 20 participants, offering a unique one-night-only experience in the heart of Tokyo.
